Responsible for providing engineering support to specifically assigned Plant production departments through continual improvement of machinery (or through appropriation of new machinery) and of processes within the production departments.

Essential Duties (Other duties may be assigned as necessary):

1) Oversees development of improvements to existing processes. Coordinates projects between Engineering, Manufacturing and Maintenance personnel to make these improvements.

2) Operate computer-assisted engineering or design software or equipment to perform engineering tasks (ACAD Electrical).

3) Knowledge of safe manufacturing practice necessary for recommendation and implementation of safety programs. Knowledge of OSHA regulations pertaining to machine tool design operation.

4) Prepare technical drawings, specifications of electrical systems, to ensure that installation and operations conform to standards and requirements.

5) Assist in developing capital project programs for new equipment or major repairs.

6) Confer with engineers, customers, or others to discuss existing or potential engineering projects or products.

7) Direct or coordinate manufacturing, construction, installation, maintenance, support, documentation, or testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, or customer requirements.

8) Design, implement, maintain, or improve electrical instruments, equipment, products, or systems for industrial applications. Knowledge of Allen-Bradley, Mitsubishi, Fanuc PLC systems, motion control for machine tool applications.

9) Oversee project production efforts to assure projects are completed on time and within budget.

10) Plan or implement research methodology or procedures to apply principles of electrical theory to engineering projects.

11) Interaction with other departments and personnel and natural ability to be a team player.

12) Develop budgets, estimate labor, materials, and construction costs.

13) Compile data and write reports regarding existing or potential electrical engineering studies or projects.

14) Inspect completed installations and observe operations to ensure conformance to design and equipment specifications and compliance with operational and safety standards.

15) Support the Plant quality systems goals / improvements & productivity goals / improvements within the scope of the job. Support the Plant safety programs / goals within the scope of the job.


Education:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college in an appropriate engineering discipline (Electrical) is preferred; or a Bachelor's degree in an Engineering Technology plus additional electrical experience.

Experience:
Prefer 3 to 5 years of manufacturing experience. PLC Programming experience required.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
