APPOINTMENT: Open until filled
RESPONSIBILITIES: Teaching responsibilities include undergraduate and graduate teaching in traditional and distance learning formats. A 4/3 teaching load is required. Traditional and/or distance learning formats will be utilized to teach courses on two campuses. Applicants must have a demonstrated commitment to excellent teaching, research and service. Additionally they must have excellent communication skills and maintain scholarly academic standing at all times.

Requirements:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Doctoral degree with a concentration in Accounting from an AACSB accredited program. (Accounting degrees must be from institutions accredited by the AACSB at the date of degree conferral.) An individual classified as a scholarly academic under our criteria for the AACSB. Although preference is given to candidates with a completed PhD by the appointment start date, ABDs will be considered. ABDs who have not completed the PhD within one year from their start date will receive a terminal contract.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Professional certification and university-level teaching experience in taxation or financial accounting. Other accounting areas will be considered.
For a degree to be considered, it must be conferred from a regionally accredited degree-granting institution of higher education (or equivalent from an international accrediting body).

THE DEPARTMENT: The Department of Accounting and Finance offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in Accountancy and undergraduate degrees in Finance. The Accounting programs hold separate AACSB accreditation. Macomb is an Amtrak city with twice-daily service to Chicago. Macomb is located approximately 75 miles from the Quad Cities International Airport (Moline, IL) and 70 miles from the Greater Peoria Regional Airport (Peoria, IL).
WIU-Quad Cities (Student Population: 1,332): The only public university in the Quad Cities area, WIU-QC offers select undergraduate and graduate programs, including a doctorate in education and a doctorate in environmental studies, at its metropolitan, non-residential campus in Moline, IL (population 44,000). The Quad Cities (population 376,000) rests on the banks of the Mississippi River and is comprised of Moline and Rock Island in western Illinois and Davenport and Bettendorf in eastern Iowa. Moline, Illinois is home to the Quad Cities International Airport.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
